Predators sign former Canes forward Nino Niederreiter to two-year deal

The Nashville Predators have signed former Carolina Hurricanes forward Nino Niederreiter to a two-year, $8 million contract, the team announced Thursday.
Niederreiter, 29, had played for the Hurricanes since the 2018-19 season. He is coming off back-to-back seasons where he 20-plus goals.
Last season, Niederreiter had 24 goals and 20 assists in 75 games for the Hurricanes.
Before Niederreiter joined the Hurricanes, he spent his first six seasons with the Minnesota Wild.
Earlier this offseason, the Hurricanes also lost forward Vincent Trocheck, who signed a seven-year contract with the New York Rangers in free agency.
